Vw Mk7 and 8 Jetta/GTI/Golf R Rear Traction Bar Install Guide

Congrats on purchasing your TB Performance Products Rear Traction Bar! In 1-2 hours youll be out ripping it up in the canyons with a ton of grip and improved handling!

Step 1.) put your car in the air on jacks. Youll be removing part of the rear suspension so ramps are a bad idea for safety reasons as well as install issues

Step 2.) Remove rear wheels. This is optionsl but it definitely makes life easier by removing mass off the suspension

Step 3.) Locate the two bolts(one on each side) that connect the rear toe links to the chassis.

Step 4.) Remove the bolts

Step 5.) Slip the brace on and reinstall the bolts. Leave them loose while reinstalling to prevent the brace from being cocked.

Step 6.) torque bolts down. For your exact model and year torque spec please call your local dealership. The number we have from our dealer is 70nm+180*

Step 7.) Reinstall wheels

Step 8.) Remove car from jacks

Step 9.) go take your car out for a rip!!

Notes:

-if you have issues with installation check the TB Performance Products Army Facebook page! There are loads of customers who have installed these parts and can help you out.

-If you get clunking noises, this brace is not likely to be the cause unless you grossly undertightened the bolts. Common areas for clunking noises are end links, sway bar mounts, sway bar bushings, strut hat bushings, ball joints. We have never had this brace cause noises so check elsewhere.

If the toe link has become misaligned, you can use a skinny screwdriver to bring them back into alignment and then thread the bolts in.

You will NOT need an alignment after this install.
