Focus ST/Mazdaspeed3 Rear Traction Bar Install Guide

The installation of the rear traction bar is pretty simple and straight forward. It should take you an hour or so to do depending on your experience level. If you run into any issues, I highly recommend removing your wheels and trying it again as this allows you MUCH more access and flexibility with getting bolts realigned.

1.) Put the vehicle in the air on jack stands.

2.) with the vehicle in the air, locate the two horizontal toe arm bolts and remove. Please use the included picture for reference

3.) Reinstall the oem bolts(you do not need to replace these). This can get tricky as the toe arms dont always like to realign. There are a couple of methods to dealing with this.

a.) Remove the wheels and use a jack to raise and lower the rear suspension one side at a time until the holes line up and you can get the bolt started. Be careful to not lift the car off of its jack stands if you choose this option.

b.) Remove the lower bolt of the toe arm and install the upper bolt with traction bar first and then the lower bolt onto the knuckle.

4.) Torque the bolts down to 48 ft lbs.

5.) Remove vehicle from jacks and go enjoy your new brace! (double check your lug nuts if you followed step 3 option a!)

Notes:

If you have difficulties or questions about installing check out the TB Performance Products Army Facebook group. There are a ton of fellow owners who have installed these. Its a friendly place to ask questions
